A remarkable article appeared in The Jewish Standard about Elie Silow-Carroll, who recently returned from NCSY’s The Jerusalem Journey Ambassadors Summer Program. The article details how the Teaneck High School senior met with prominent figures and visited key sites in Israel in order to gain firsthand insight into the ongoing struggles in Israel. Of special note is the trip that TJJA took to Sderot, the southern town that for a decade has been the recipient of near-constant missile barrages from Gaza. Noam Bedein, director of the Sderot Media Center, urged the program “ambassadors” to use social networking tools to speak up for Israel.
