Since March, 2015, Rabbi Aaron E. Glatt, MD, has delivered a popular daily shiur called Mishnah Brurah Yomi, working through the Chofetz Chaim’s classic work of practical halacha at the rate of a page a day. (Actually, there are five shiurim per week, as two days are reserved for review, which is an integral component of the program.) Join us now as Rabbi Dr. Glatt completes the second volume of Mishnah Brurah and begins the third, which covers hilchos Shabbos.
The final shiur of chelek beis, on siman 239 (kriyat Shema al hamitah), is scheduled for Monday, July 3. Rabbi Dr. Glatt will not be delivering online shiurim for simanim 240 and 241, which deal with marital intimacy. Rather, he will be delivering a live shiur for married men at the Young Israel of Woodmere on Thursday, July 6, at 8:45 PM (following Maariv). The shiur is being presented l’ilui nishmas Chana bas Meir Avraham (Mrs. Anna Glatt, a”h) on her the first yahrtzeit. (Click on the image of the flyer below for more information on the live shiur.) Hebrew text for simanim 240 and 241 will be posted online and Rabbi Dr. Glatt has made himself available to address questions from program participants.
Since the inception of the OU’s Mishnah Brurah Yomi program, Rabbi Dr. Glatt has delivered over 600 shiurim of approximately 18-20 minutes each, suitable for men, women and older children. A companion program, the Mishnah Brurah Iyun Chaburah by Rabbi Ephraim Glatt, JD, discusses select topics from the week’s Mishnah Brurah Yomi in greater depth.
Siman 242, the start of the third volume of Mishnah Brurah, is scheduled for July 11 (which also happens to be 17 Tammuz). Follow Mishnah Brurah Yomi online at OU Torah, via podcast, or by using the OU Torah app for iOS and Android.
