Who in the Jewish community isn’t aware of Hon. Joseph Lieberman, who was the 2000 Democratic candidate for Vice President of the United States? At the conclusion of his 24-year tenure as a US senator from Connecticut, Senator Lieberman served as Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and a senior member of the Armed Services Committee. Senator Lieberman now serves as senior counsel at the law firm of Kasowitz, Benson, Torres LLP in New York and Chairman of United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI).
Senator Lieberman is the author of seven books on history, government, law, and religion. His book on Shabbos, The Gift of Rest: Rediscovering the Beauty of the Sabbath, is available from OU Press.
But that’s not all! Senator Lieberman now has a new book, also available from OU Press! With Liberty and Justice: The Fifty-Day Journey From Egypt to Sinai by Senator Lieberman with popular OU Torah contributor Rabbi Ari Kahn, explores the link between Pesach and Shavuos, as well as the connection between the concepts of liberty and law.
You can learn more about this new book when Senator Lieberman appears at the OU’s Torah New York event, Sunday, April 29, indoors at Citi Field. Get full details and sign up at ou.org/torahny!
