Join us at the OU’s upcoming Torah New York event, Sunday, April 29, indoors at Citi Field, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet and hear from many master scholars and teachers. One of these is NCSY‘s own Rabbi Israel Lashak.
Hailing from Mexico City, Mexico, Rabbi Lashak received Bachelors and Masters degrees in Talmudic Law from Ner Yisroel Yeshiva in Baltimore, in addition to a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Yochanan Zweig. Rabbi Lashak has been with NCSY for more than a quarter-century, becoming Regional Director of the Southwest region in 1996. He currently serves as Senior Educator for International NCSY.
Rabbi Lashak’s accomplishments in outreach and education have not only been impressive and inspiring, they have been exhausting to watch as he zips around the globe, going wherever his talents are needed. He has traveled throughout the Southwest to Europe to Israel to Latin America, where he helped to establish NCSY in such places as Chile and Argentina. On the OU Torah web site, Rabbi Lashak has delivered a long-running parsha series in Spanish, Perlas de la Tora (Pearls of the Torah), instantly becoming popular series filling a crucial need for Spanish-speaking Jews. (If you understand Spanish, you might enjoy this shiur from Rabbi Lashak on sefiras ha’omer!)
Rabbi Lashak is a passionate and dynamic public speaker who has thrilled audiences in English, Spanish and Hebrew in 27 countries around the globe. Now’s your chance to meet him at the special NCSY program at the OU’s Torah New York!
