You may be familiar with Rebbetzin Dr. Adina Shmidman, who serves as founding director of the Orthodox Union’s Women’s Initiative. She and her husband, Rabbi Avraham Shmidman, serve as rabbi and rebbetzin of the Lower Merion Synagogue in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Prior to accepting the position of director of the Women’s Initiative, Dr. Shmidman taught Advanced Placement Psychology and Judaic classes at Kosloff Torah Academy Girls High School, where she also directed the staff professional development program.
Now, Dr. Shmidman is taking the Initiative – the Women’s Initiative, that is – to the OU’s Torah New York, to be held Sunday, April 29, indoors at Citi Field! (Dr. Shmidman will be speaking on topics from Nach.)
You can find samples of Dr. Shmidman on Torah – and other topics – around the OU web site. For example, in OU Torah, you can catch the first installment of Dr. Shmidman’s Torata podcast, Tefillah: Emotion or Going Through Motions? In OU Holidays, she talks about Finding Your Inner Hero. In OU Life, as part of In the Spotlight, Dr. Shmidman interviews CEO Aviva Weiss.
