OU Executive Vice President, Emeritus Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb was down in Florida for the OU Community Weekend. While there, he visited Recovery Road, a drug rehabilitation facility in the Palm Beach area. According to Rabbi Weinreb, “this is an excellent facility that is especially welcoming of Orthodox Jewish patients requiring such treatment. Recovery Road employs a wide array of proven clinical techniques to deliver top-quality treatment. In addition, Recovery Road offers an unparalleled experience for people from frum backgrounds including fresh Glatt Kosher meals catered daily, an on-staff Rabbi that works with clients on the spiritual aspects of their recovery, a shul within walking distance, and a staff that is trained and acutely in touch with the issues specific to our community.”
Rabbi Weinreb continues, “I have long been familiar with the growing problem of drug and alcohol abuse in our community and became even more concerned at the Roundtable on Substance Abuse in the Jewish Community that I co-directed several months ago. We will be placing special emphasis in our OU programming on educating parents and school personnel about the problem, and in informing the public about available treatment options.”
