OU West Coast Convention to Feature Michael Medved in “Leadership in Challenging Times,” December 3-6 in LA

24 Nov 2015
Michael Medved.

Leadership is an important Jewish value. The Talmudic sage Hillel taught in Ethics of the Fathers, “In a place where there are no leaders, strive to be a leader.” (2:5) Reflecting on that theme, the Orthodox Union West Coast Convention, “Leadership in Challenging Times,” will take place Thursday, December 3 through Sunday, December 6 in Los Angeles. Radio personality and author Michael Medved will deliver the keynote address.

Rabbi Alan Kalinsky, Director of OU West Coast Region, said, “The world around us and the Jewish people in particular are beset with many challenges.  But perhaps the greatest challenge that we face in our world today is the lack of leadership.  Accordingly, we have decided that this year’s convention will address that very theme, ‘Leadership in Challenging Times.’ We are privileged that our good friend Michael Medved has agreed to join us once again after an absence of nearly a decade to serve as our keynote speaker.  He will address this topic from several vantage points: General Leadership, Leadership as it relates to the 2016 elections, and finally, Jewish Leadership in Challenging Times.”

He continued, “I am certain that we will gain tremendous strength and insight from Michael’s participation. We are equally proud to host a varied faculty, many of whom are directly connected to the great work of the Orthodox Union, who will fan out across the Los Angeles area to continue the communal conversation on this important topic.”

The roster of speakers feature:
