OU’S RABBI STEVEN WEIL RETURNS AS CONGREGATION OHEV SHALOM SCHOLAR-IN-RESIDENCE IN BOCA RATON AS A HIGHLIGHT OF OU COMMUNITY WEEKEND IN SOUTH FLORIDA, FEBRUARY 3-4

Orthodox Union Executive Vice President Rabbi Steven Weil will be Scholar-In-Residence at Congregation Ohev Shalom in Boca Raton, from Friday, February 3-Saturday, Feburary 4 (Parshat Beshalach/Shabbat Shirah ), as a highlight of the OU’s Community Weekend in South Florida. The synagogue is located at 21301 Powerline Road. Rabbi Weil previously visited the synagogue as Scholar-in-Residence last December.

Rabbi Weil will lead a delegation of the OU’s top representatives who will be visiting 10 separate synagogues across South Florida to provide strength to the communities as they face today’s Jewish challenges, most notably, day school affordability.

At a special Friday night dinner at the synagogue, Rabbi Weil will address “The Two Most Powerful Women in Jewish History.” On Shabbat morning, he will discuss, “She Packs a Powerful Punch.” Rabbi Weil will give a Shabbat afternoon class, on “The Longest Running Show on Broadway,” before speaking at seudat shlishit about “Their Finest Moment.”

Rabbi Yaacov Gibber, rabbi of Ohev Shalom, noted, “We couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity and the privilege of a Shabbat spent together with a community leader and visionary the caliber of Rabbi Steven Weil. We look forward to learning from his experience as the pinnacle head of the Orthodox Union, and as a trailblazer, inspiring and innovating programs as we shape the Jewish future together.”
