ARE YOUR JOB CONTACTS LIMITED? OU JOB BOARD TO PRESENT NETWORKING WITHOUT A NETWORK IN NATIONAL WEBCAST, DECEMBER 13
The advice for job seekers has always been “network, network, network.” But suppose you have no network or it is limited in scope. The OU Job Board’s Wall Street Initiative will tackle this issue in a webcast, “Networking Without a Network: Job Search Strategies for Job Seekers With Limited Contacts,” which will be available everywhere on computers on Monday, December 13 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. EST on www.oujobs.org.
There will also be a live audience at OU headquarters for the webcast. Registration is required for both the webcast and to attend in person.
The presenter will be Lavie Margolin, a Job Search Advisor and author of the recently released book, “Lion Cub Job Search: Practical Job Search Assistance for Practical Job Seekers.” Mr. Margolin’s work in assisting Jewish professionals since 2003 has included coordinating the OU’s ParnossahWorks program, the predecessor of the Job Board; working as a Senior Job Developer for the human services agency FEGS; and teaching career development courses.
Topics he will discuss include:
• How to conduct a practical job search;
• How to expand your network;
• How to best leverage your network for career success; and
• How to maintain your network throughout your career.
To register, visit www.oujobs.org; email sarahd@ou.org; or call 212-613-8391. For in-person attendance, registration is given on a first-come, first-served basis.
