OU JOB BOARD OFFERS ONLINE “RETOOLING” CLASSES IN OCTOBER, FEATURING COURSES ON MOST IN-DEMAND SOFTWARE, FOR WORLD-WIDE AUDIENCE AT WWW.OUJOBS.ORG
Keeping up with popular demand, The OU Job Board | Employment and Resumé Opportunities , will be offering a series of online “retooling classes” during the month of October, of the most in-demand and widely used software needed to advance in today’s job market. Registration is mandatory, on the OU Job Board website, www.oujobs.org. Space is limited, and participants must commit to attending all sessions.
The QuickBook Experience, the most widely used accounting software, will be offered in a week-long four-session series beginning Monday, October 3-Thursday, October 6 featuring the latest version on the market, Quickbooks Enterpreise 12.0 (2012). “Intensive Quickbooks for Beginners” will take place from 1:30-3:30 p.m. EDT (8:30-10:30 p.m. Israel time). “Intensive Quickbooks for Intermediate Users” will take place from 7:00-9:00 p.m. EDT. The course will cover getting started and setting up a QuickBooks company file; working with lists and bank accounts; entering sales information; receiving payments and making deposits; entering and paying bills; and analyzing financial data and reports.
A four-session series on Microsoft Excel will be offered from 9:15-11:00 a.m. EDT (4:15-6:00 p.m. Israel time) beginning Monday, October 24-Thursday, November 3. Exploring the Excel 2007 environment, the course will instruct on how to create, save, send and retrieve worksheets; perform calculations using formulas and functions; modify and format worksheets; prepare for print; and create impressive graphs and charts.
Microsoft Powerpoint for Beginners will be offered in a four-session course, beginning Monday, October 24-Thursday, November 3, from 11:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. EDT (6:15-8:15 p.m. Israel time). Lessons include, “Creating and Editing a Presentation with Illustrations and Shapes;” “Creating a Presentation with Custom Backgrounds and SmartArt Diagrams;” and “Working with Information Graphics with Microsoft Excel.”
Adobe Photoshop for Beginners will also be offered in a four-session course, beginning Monday, October 24-Thursday, November 3, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. EDT (8:30-10:30 p.m. Israel time). Instructions will cover, “Introduction to Adobe Photoshop;” “Creating Selections in Adobe Photoshop;” “Compositing with Selections in Adobe Photoshop;” and “Color and Retouching in Adobe Photoshop.”
Dreamweaver, today’s premier program for website design, will be offered for Beginners in a four-session course, beginning Monday, October 24-Thursday, November 3 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. EDT. Instruction will cover understanding the work flow and workplace to create and manage files; creating pages with text and images using CSS (for styling), page layouts, links, and navigation; and preparing a site for future publication on the Internet.
