OU JOB BOARD ANNOUNCES JOB FAIR IN JERUSALEM, OCTOBER 17

The OU Job Board | Employment and Resumé Opportunities announces a Job Fair in Jerusalem, to be held on Wednesday, October 17 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. (15:00-18:00 IST) at Machon Lander (Lander College for Men) Kanfei Nesharim 24 (first floor) in Givat Shaul. Employment opportunities, overwhelmingly white collar in nature, will be open to both native speakers of English and Hebrew, but with an emphasis on English. The Fair, therefore, has a special importance for those who made aliyah.

Employers across Israel with available jobs are encouraged to contact Michael Rosner, Director of OU Job Board, at {encode=”mailto:jobsco@ou.org” title=”jobsco@ou.org”}. Job seekers and employers can register to participate in the Fair on the Job Board website at www.oujobs.org. There is no fee for applicants or employers. Registration is mandatory for applicants; no walk-ins will be accepted.

The Job Fair will be run in partnership with the Jerusalem Muncipality; Nefesh B’Nefesh; Association of Americans and Canadian Immigrants (AACI); and Israeli agencies JAFFI, MOLA, and TELFED.

Michael Rosner said, “Making aliyah is often a dream nourished by many who seek to make their permanent home in Israel. One thing that can deter them is the search for a new job, an often daunting prospect, particularly when a foreign language is involved. OU Job Fairs have been tremendously beneficial for both employers and job seekers, as we limit the candidates to only those qualified for the positions advertised.”

“In doing this,” he explained, “we receive a higher quality of people whose expertise is the job looking to be filled — often individuals have been hired on the spot or are scheduled to visit a company for a second interview. The upcoming Job Fair in October will attract more employers and a wider variety of jobs, as a robust Israeli economy seeks to hire staff to benefit its growth.”

In related news, Teva Pharmaceuticals Ltd. based in Petach-Tikvah, one one of the top 15 pharmaceutical companies in the world, recently used the OU Job Board to announce availability of employment opportunities.

Potential applicants can view a list online of available jobs and employers who will be attending the fair at www.oujobs.org.
