OU Torah is pleased to offer a number of daily learning programs, including Daf Yomi, Nach Yomi (including Torat Imecha Nach Yomi from the OU Women’s Initiative), Dirshu Mishnah Brurah Yomi with Rabbi Aaron E. Glatt, MD, and many more. Another of these programs is the OU’s Mishna Yomit, which is about to begins its next cycle.
Mishna Yomit is a daily Torah-study program in which participants learn two mishnayos a day and complete all six orders of the Mishna in approximately six years. (Of course, individuals can accelerate their learning in order to complete shas mishnayos in their own preferred time frame.)
The Mishna Yomit study program includes the following components:
- A daily shiur offered by such teachers of Torah as Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, Rabbi Yosef Grossman z”l, Rabbi Reuven Boshnack, Rabbi David Felsenthal, Rabbi Zvi Nussbaum, Rabbi Akiva Tendler, Rabbi David Pardo and Rabbi Jack Abramowitz, among many others;
- The text of the mishna and the commentary of the Bartinuro in the original Hebrew. (For those who may not have studied Mishna before, the Bartinuro is to the study of Mishna what Rashi is to the study of Chumash);
- An English-language synopsis of the Mishna by the aforementioned Rabbi Jack, author of The Nach Yomi Companion, The Shnayim Mikra Companion and other acclaimed English-language adaptations;
- A daily email that includes the English synopsis, with a link to the original text and daily shiur;
- A brand-new calendar checklist for the 2021-2027 cycle, to help you keep up with the daily learning and to track your progress!
Of course, not everyone chooses to study each and every mishna in shas but many people still utilize the Mishna Yomit resources to study individual mesechtas, such as for a shloshim or a siyum.
