What if someone forgot to make the bracha until he/she lit the first candle (and fulfilled the main part of the mitzvah)? Can you make a bracha on hiddur mitzvah? If the hiddur is for each person to light, then you can only light if you have in mind not to be yotzei with the head of the house. Once you are fulfilling your own mitzvah it’s not hiddur mitzvah!
