SPIRIT MISSION TO NEW ORLEANS

March 17 @ 12:00 pm - March 19 @ 3:00 pm

Since 2005 OU Relief Missions has been sending groups to New Orleans to assist with immediate disaster relief and long-term recovery work. OU Relief Missions is fueled by the principles of Chessed and Tikum Olam Be Malchut Shaki, it is our mission to instill these Jewish values in the Jewish community and to extend aid to communities grappling with natural disasters, socio-economic challenges, and social inequities.

The OU SPIRIT Initiative is proud to partner with OU Relief Missions on this important program, which has been designed specifically for the SPIRIT population (60+ demographic) with appropriate activities to provide assistance to the community while enjoying the culture of New Orleans experience with other SPIRIT participants.

Single occupancy:  $750 per person
Double occupancy:  $600 per person

Price includes hotel stay, transportation during the mission, meals, and activities.

Volunteer activities may include:  Painting water barrels for conservation, Prepping and serving food to those in need, light work( geared for those +60) to assist in building projects, and restocking shelves in a grocery store in the Lower Ninth Ward  / Cultural Activities may include a horse and buggy ride on a tour of the French Quarter, Ghost tours, and a Jewish historical tour (activities are subject to change depending on weather, safety,  and other factors)
