The Orthodox Union, in partnership with a wide array of national Jewish organizations, will sponsor the New York Stands With Israel: Community-Wide Rally on Monday, July 28, at 12:30 p.m. at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza (enter at 2nd Avenue and 47th Street).
The OU’s Facebook campaign for the rally sent 10,000 invites with the goal of reaching 18,000. Facebook users are encouraged to “like” and “share” the rally’s Facebook page at facebook.com/ujafedny.
“Now more than ever is a crucial time to demonstrate our tangible support for Israel and its citizens,” said Allen Fagin, Executive Vice President of the Orthodox Union. “On Monday we will unite together with our partners across the Jewish community to rally on Israel’s behalf. It is vital that we demonstrate, in large numbers, that the Jewish community stands with Israel and will do everything in our means to guarantee its safety and security.”
Participating organizations include the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, the UJA Federation of New York, the New York Board of Rabbis, the Conference of Presidents, the Union for Reform Judaism, the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, the National Council of Young Israel, and the Orthodox Union.
Please avoid bringing large bags or backpacks. Additionally, NYPD regulations bar any wooden/metal poles and/or sticks (even if attached to a flag). For more information about the rally visit Facebook at facebook.com/ujafedny or contact Hindy Poupko at the JCRC at PoupkoH@jcrcny.org.
